A. Parks Rasin, Jr. was born in 1911, in Chestertown, Maryland, attended local schools and graduated from Washington College. He graduated from the University of Maryland Law School and was admitted to the Bar in 1941. He returned to Chestertown, opened a law office in the early Forties and, after service in World War II, ran successfully for State’s Attorney of Kent County in 1946 and again in 1950. He continued his private practice while acting as State’s Attorney.
His son, Alexander P. Rasin III, joined the law office in 1970 after graduating from Washington & Lee University in 1965, and University of Maryland Law School in 1968. He also served two years on active duty with the U.S. Army. The firm became Rasin & Rasin in 1970.
A. Parks Rasin, Jr. died on August 29, 1975. The following year, H. Thomas Sisk joined the firm and it became Rasin & Sisk. In 1982, Sisk was appointed District Court Judge and shortly thereafter Arthur M. Wright joined the firm. The firm became Rasin & Wright.
In 1984, Eugenia C. Wootton joined the firm and subsequently the firm became Rasin, Wright & Wootton. Arthur M. Wright retired in 1999 and the firm became Rasin and Wootton.
In 2012, Kathleen W. Hurd (Wootton) joined the firm as an associate. In 2015, the firm became Rasin, Wootton & Hurd.
